Camp, Conference and Recreation Center

The Do-It-Yourself overnight accommodations serving individual travelers up to groups of 200 at affordable rates because guests cleanup after themselves.

  • Birch Bay Hostel and Guesthouse - Overnight accommodations for individual travelers and small groups up to 40 people.  From May thru September available daily at 5pm to 10am (group reservations suggested) and from October thru April available to groups by reservation.  Managed and operated by the Birch Bay Lions Club.

Bay Horizon Park, a public recreation facility, is the former Blaine Air Force Station, now Whatcom County Park, located 25 miles north of Bellingham, WA and 6 miles south of the Canadian border at the Peace Arch Crossing.

Bay Horizon Park is owned by Whatcom County, managed and operated by the Lions Camp Horizon Foundation and is the home of Camp Horizon, the Lion's residential summer camp experience for people with special needs.

Below is a link to the first campfire in the new campfire pit at Lions Camp Horizon at Bay Horizon Park on June 26, 2010.  The renovated campfire circle, benches and new pit are the project of Eagle Scout candidate Michael Aigner, shown in the video with his father Bruce.  The new paint job on the building in the background was also an Eagle Scout project from one year ago.
 
Bay Horizon Community Park Update, June 28, 2010 - Decisions have been made on the new equipment and building permits will soon be applied for.  The goal is to have the new children's playground up and running by Halloween courtesy of property owner Whatcom County Parks & Rec. and the Northwest Parks & Rec.
